Aisha’s Profile
A graphic designer by trade, Aisha Hamilton applies her design sensibilities and training to her work as an artist. She welds sculpture, paints and draws intricate scenes on sewn together paper, utilizing newspaper swatches to create a quilted canvas. A native of Los Angeles, CA, she has adopted the San Francisco Bay Area as her new home. Urbanism and the study of industry and architecture are Aisha’s favorite subject matters. She has been exhibited at the W. Keith & Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery, and the Millard Sheets gallery as an emerging artist.

Hi Aisha,
Thanks for sending that – those are really great. How big are they, what are the materials, are they weather-resistant or open to morphing with weather? Makes me want to weld!
So, I think you should have decided by now wheter to go through with the place in Oakland – are you now Oaklanders or are you still San Franciscans???????
Hi to Bessie!

Kevin –
Linked is 45″w x 32″d x 22″h; Vessel is 44″w x 21″D x 19″H. They are made of steel, with a powder coat finish, and yes, they’re weather resistant. Feel free to ask any other questions, and if you’re interested, I can tell you where to take some great welding classes in the Bay Area.
Great to hear from you!
Aisha

Wonderful to reconnect, and Happy New Year! This makes 2 of my previous graphic artists who have made it professionally in the commercial world! Keep in touch…you never know when I might make it up there for a visit. All my best to you and Bessie.
